The Calhoun County Amateur Radio Association will be holding it's annual ARRL Amateur Radio Field Day 2012 on Saturday June 23, 2012 starting from around 1PM at Mike Tucker Park in Anniston, AL. Field Day is where ham radio operators, throughout the country, will be setting up their radio communications equipment in various locations and making contact with other ham radio operators as a display of their emergency communications capabilities. It should be fun and is also a validation to the hundreds of ham radio operators/volunteers who have spent thousands of hours providing emergency communications, public service work and other benefits throughout our community and region.
There will be a Red Cross ERV (Emergency Response Vehicle) on display for the public to see and the Calhoun County Sheriff's Office is also scheduled to have some emergency equipment/vehicles on display too. Please mark this day on your calender and come out to join the fun and find out more about what ham radio operators do for the community!
